Blazers Celebrate Seniors with a Twin Bill Victory Over Falcons

CHICOPEE, MA- After the Blazers takedown the Albertus Magnus Falcons on Friday afternoon in a doubleheader sweep, the Elms College Baseball team will now the for the first round of GNAC playoffs next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Friday, April 28th the Elms College Baseball team hosted the Albertus Magnus Falcons for their final regular season doubleheader. 

Senior Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT) began the series on the mound for the Blazers, the righty pitcher threw the full 7 inning game striking out 5 Falcons and only allowing two runs to score. 

Josh Nohilly (Bristol, CT) cracked three hits against the Falcons, Justin Miller (Prospect, CT) and Roy added two hits apiece for the Blazers.

Albertus was able to chalk up a run in the first and a homerun from N. Ramos to kick off the start of the second inning. The Falcons would remain at two runs for the continuation of the first game.

The Blazers would record six runs against the Falcons with two, two run innings in the bottom of the second and fourth. Senior Aaron Young (Somer, CT) sent the ball yard in the bottom of the third with a home run over the left field fence, this is Young's third home run of the season. 

Elms secured the first game 6-2 for the final.

HOW IT HAPPENED

For the start of game two sophomore Henry Rondon (Ansonia, CT) began on the hill for the Blazers. Rondon threw for four scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. Senior TJ Alves (Ludlow, MA) and junior Kyle Sebastyanski (Auburn, MA) let up a hit each against the falcons. For the final two innings Xandar Karadimas (Granby, CT) closed out the game facing six batters, letting up zero hits and zero runs. 

Young recorded two doubles in the second game against the Falcons, Josh Nohilly also added a double late in the seventh inning.

The Blazers recorded a six run inning in the bottom of the fifth with both Jake Slahtosky (South Windsor, CT) and Tyler Galenski (Wilbraham, MA) sneaking the ball through the infield deep ito the outfield for a 2 RBI single. Senior Slahtosky would finish the game with three hits and three RBI for the day. 

Elms scattered 13 hits across the field with seven batters recording an RBI, three stolen bases and only two errors in the game. The Blazers secured the 11-2 victory over the Falcons for a conference doubleheader sweep.
