Golden Bears Takedown the Blazers 7-4

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Baseball team fell short 7-4 against the Western New England Golden Bears at Mackenzie Stadium Wendesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blazers opened up the first inning bringing home a run off of a sacrafice fly to left field from George Chaya (Methuen, MA). 

The Blazers would grow a 2-0 run lead over the Golden Bears after an error causing AJ Cook (Mendon, Ma) to safely reach home.

Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT) started on the hill for the Blazers, the senior threw for 4 innings letting up 2 hits, 1 run and 1 strikeout. First year Ross Tine (Wethersfield,CT) would relieve Roy from the mound for an inning and a third before TJ Alves (Ludlow, MA) stepped up on the hill. Camden Murphy (Berlin)would finish out the final two innings of the game for the Blazers.

To start off the fourth inning S.Jamieson would tattoo the ball with a home run to get the Golden Bears on the board.

Western New England would end up tying the game 4-4 in the top of the sixth after sending a runner home due to a passed ball.  

With an additional run added in the seventh and two more in the ninth the Golden Bears would secure their 7-4 win over the Blazers.
