Blazers Drop Doubleheader Against Rangers, 9-8 and 5-3.

AUBURNDALE, FL - After ten innings the Blazer Men ended the first game of the double header 9-8, and fell in the fallowing game 5-3 to the Drew University Rangers.

How it Happened

The Elms Men battled against the Rangers for 10 innings after AJ Cook (Mendon, MA) singled to center field for an RBI to tie up the score 7-7 in the top of the 7th. In the bottom of the 10th inning the Drew Rangers were hit an RBI double and an RBI single to take the win.

In the first inning the Blazers were able to bring home four runners, starting off with a single to center field from Tyler Galenski (Wilburham, MA) sending Cook home. Due to walks and a fielders choice play the Blazers were able to take on three more runs for the inning. Henry Rondon (Ansonia, CT) threw a clean inning with two strike outs swinging.

The Blazers continued scoring in the second including an RBI from Chase Presti who sent home Cook to add their second run of the inning to the book. The Blazers continued their 6-0 into the third inning.

The Drew Rangers had a consistent three innings recording 2 runs in each to tie up the score 6-6 heading into the 6th inning

Due to an error in the bottom of the 6th the Rangers were able to score the leading run, 7-6.

Justin Miller (Prospect, CT) was sent home from second base in the top of the 7th to tie the game back up at 7's by Cook. The Blazers would hold Drew into extra innings. 

In the 10th with the bases loaded, Miller is walked and Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT) is sent home to take the lead 8-7. The Rangers were able to crack a double to center field to tie up the game with with no outs. Drew University would take the win after a final RBI singled to left field, ending the game 9-8.

How it Happened

The Men put up the first run in the bottom of the 3rd in the second game against the Rangers. With a sacrifice fly to center field by Austin Roy (Cromwell,CT) to send George Chaya (Methuen, MA) home, ending the inning up 1-0.

Drew started the 4th inning with a home run by A. Hernandez to put them on the board (1-1). The Rangers.continued to get hits off and move around the bases to end the inning with 4 runs, now leading 4-1 at the bottom of the 4th. Felix Gutier (Holyoke, MA) grounded out to second base sending Elms' second player, CJ Moriarty (Glastonbury, CT) home ending the inning down 4-2.

N.Miller for the Rangers opened up the 5th inning with a home run to left field to add another run to their score, now leading by three runs (5-2). The Blazers would stay at 2 runs for the rest of the inning.

Roy singled to right field to send Chaya home in the bottom of the 7th to record their final run of the game. The Blazer ended the game falling to the Drew University Rangers, 5-3 for the final.
