4-Hit Day for Cook As Elms College Skirts Past Thomas (ME) College Terriers

DAVENPORT, FL - The Elms College Baseball finished out the day 1-1 after falling to the Thomas (ME) College Terriers 6-5, and ended the day overpowering the Terriers 23-1.

How it Happened
 
Elms College stayed in it until the end, but Thomas (ME) College Terriers pulled away late in a 6-5 victory on Wednesday.  The game was tied at three with Thomas College Terriers Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Matt Seymour singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
 
Elms College took an early lead in the first inning when Tyler Cantey induced CJ Moriarty (Glastonbury, CT) to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
 
Thomas College evened things up at three in the top of the fourth inning.  Jason Bartlett grounded out into a double play, scoring one run.
 
Cantey toed the rubber for Thomas College Terriers Varsity. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out four.
 
Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT) led things off on the hill for Elms College. The righty lasted five innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out five.  Vinny Buono (Springfield, MA) threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
Elms College totaled eight hits.  Josh Nohilly (Bristol, CT), Tyler Galenski (Wilberham, MA), and AJ Cook (Mendon, MA) each collected multiple hits for Elms College.  Cook, Galenski, and Nohilly all had two hits to lead Elms College.  Elms College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Nohilly had the most chances in the field with seven.
 
Cam Haynes led Thomas College Terriers Varsity with three hits in three at bats.

How it Happened
 

AJ Cook was dialed in at the plate on Wednesday, tallying four hits and leading Elms College to a 23-1 win over Thomas College Terriers Varsity.  Cook singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.
 
Elms College got things started in the first inning.  Josh Nohilly hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.
 
Elms College notched ten runs in the seventh inning.  Cook, George Chaya (Methuen, MA), Nason Busca (Windsor, CT), Nohilly, Austin Roy, and  Chase Prestia (Newington, CT) each had RBIs in the frame.
 
Colby Arnold (Waterford, CT) was on the hill for Elms College. Arnold surrendered one run on four hits over six innings, striking out three.
 
Tony Meza toed the rubber for Thomas College Terriers Varsity. The righty allowed five hits and five runs over two innings, striking out two.  Albert Acosta, Reid Gagnon, and Angelo Moutafis each contributed in relief for Thomas College Terriers Varsity.
 
Elms College scattered 14 hits in the game.  Cook, Prestia, and Tyler Galenski each racked up multiple hits for Elms College.  Cook led Elms College with four hits in four at bats.
