Baseball Sweep Double Header Against Lions

DAVENPORT, FL - The Elms College Men's Baseball team went 2-0 in the day against the Penn State-Fayette Lions; the Blazers dominated the diamond in both games finishing 14-1 in the first game, followed by 13-4 in the second.

How it Happened

The Elms College  Baseball team fired up the offense in the first inning.  Josh Nohilly (Bristol, CT) drew a walk, scoring one run.
 
The Blazers notched seven runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Elms College was led by Tyler Galenski (Wilberham, MA), Nohilly, Chase Prestia (Newington, CT), Seamus Higgins (Rutland, MA), and AJ Cook (Mendon, MA), all driving in runs in the inning.
 
Kyle Sebastyanski (Auburn, MA) toed the rubber for Elms College. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out five.
 
Kaleb Shultz was on the pitcher's mound for Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Varsity. The righthander went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on one hit.  Braeden McKnight and Connor Vig entered the game as relief, throwing four and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.
 
The Blazers tallied 11 hits on the day.  Cook, CJ Moriarty (Glastonbury, CT), Higgins, George Chaya (Methuen, MA), and Prestia each had multiple hits for Elms College.  Cook went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Elms College in hits.  Elms College didn't commit a single error in the field. Galenski had the most chances in the field with six.
 
Andrew Despot led Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

How it Happened

Elms College claimed a 13-4 victory on Friday, despite a big push by Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Varsity in the sixth inning.  Andrew Despot and Sawyer D'Andrea each had RBIs in the frame.
 
The Blazers opened up scoring in the first inning.  Tyler Galenski grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Elms College put up six runs in the seventh inning. The Blazers put the pressure on, lead by singles by Chase Prestia and Aaron Young (Somers, CT), a triple by AJ Cook, and an error on a ball put in play by Galenski.
 
Gino Tarantino (Trumbull, CT) got the start for Elms College. The lefty surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out seven.
 
Jorge Palmas led things off on the hill for Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Varsity. The righthander surrendered seven runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out four.  Despot threw one inning out of the bullpen.
 
The Blazers Baseball team saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game.  Young, Austin Roy (Cromwell, CT), Josh Nohilly, Cook, and Prestia each managed multiple hits for Elms College.  Roy and Young each collected three hits to lead Elms College.  Elms College tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Seamus Higgins led the way with two.
