Men’s Golf Places Eighth at Wildcat Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. – Elms College senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) shot a team-low round of 77 on Saturday afternoon to lead three Blazers in the 70s as Elms carded a total score of 641 over the two days and finished eighth overall at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University at Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I.

Endicott College and Husson University both finished with scores of 618 and the Gulls won the playoff to finish first in the field of 15 teams. Rhode Island College finished third with a two-day score of 622, while UMass-Dartmouth (634) and Suffolk University (635) placed fourth and fifth respectively.

Jonathan Cooper and Ryan Butler – both of Rhode Island – finished with a two-day total of 151. Cooper won the playoff to earn individual medalist honors. Endicott's Austin Teal and Zach Golojuch finished in a tie for third overall with combined totals of 153.

Senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) and sophomore Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) led the eighth place Blazers with scores of 158 (80 and 78) and both finished in a tie for 20th overall.

Cudnik finished two strokes behind Fall and Benson with a 160 while freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) and junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) each shot 83 on Saturday to collect two-day scores of 165 and 169 respectively.

Elms returns to action on Tuesday, April 22 when it hosts its spring Blazers Invitational at Westover Golf Course at 10:00 a.m. in Granby, Mass.
