Men’s Golf tied for 11th After Day One of Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Elms College senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) carded a round of 75 and junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) was one stroke behind at 76 in day one action of the 30th Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. on Saturday afternoon.

Elms is tied for 11th in the 22 team field. Hamilton College leads the team score with 291 points, followed by host Middlebury (292) and Williams College (294). The Blazers and Tufts University are tied in 11th place with 311 points each.

Middlebury's Rob Donahoe shot a two-under-par 68 to lead the individual field with 34s on the front nine and back nine.

Fall tied for 20th individually on day one while Smith tied for 30th overall. Freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) and senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) each shot a round of 80, while freshman Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) carded a first-day score of 87.

Invitational action resumes on Sunday, September 15 at 9:00 a.m.
