Men’s Golf Tied for Second Following Day One Action at NECC Championship

STOW, Mass. – Elms College senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) carded a season-low round of 69 and the Blazers notched a combined score of 317 to help secure a tie for second place after day one action of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship hosted by Newbury College at Wedgewood Pines Golf Club in Stow, Mass.

Fall shot a three-under-par 69 (34-35) for his best score of the season and shares the individual lead with Babson College's Vijay Vasandani who also shot a 69 (34-35).

The Beavers registered a team score of 308 to lead the seven team field after day one, followed by the Blazers and Springfield College with 317. Host Newbury is sitting in fourth with 334, followed by Daniel Webster College (354), Becker College (356) and Mitchell College (371).

Senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) is tied for 13th overall with a round of 82, while junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) and freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) each shot 83 to tie for 15th after day one. Freshman Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) added a score of 98.

NECC Championship action resumes on Sunday morning at Wedgewood Pines Golf Club.
