Men’s Golf Places Third at 2013 ECAC Division III New England Championship

BERNARDSTON, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team shot a day two score of 321 and totaled a combined 649 strokes over the two days to place third in the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship at Crumpin Fox Golf Club and hosted by Springfield College in Bernardston, Mass. on Sunday afternoon.

Middlebury College won the team honors with 635 combined strokes while Nichols College's Colin Whitney earned individual medalist honors after finishing day one with a 78 and day two with a 75 and notched 153 total strokes – just one ahead of Middlebury's Fitz Bowen.

Elms' senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) fired a second-day round of 78 and carded 161 strokes over the two days to finish tied for ninth overall and junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) registered back-to-back 81s as he finished tied for 15th overall.

Senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) shot 82 on day two, freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) shot 86, and freshman Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) notched an 80 to round out the Blazers' lineup.

Elms returns to action on Wednesday, October 16 at Emmanuel College at 12:00 p.m.
