Men’s Golf Places Ninth After Day One of Wildcat Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. – Elms College senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) and sophomore Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) shot a team-low round of 80 and the Blazers combined to shoot 325 and place ninth after day one action at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Cranston Country Club in Cranston, R.I.

Rhode Island College leads the field of 15 teams with a combined score of 312, followed by Endicott College and UMass-Dartmouth in a tie for second with a day one score of 313. Husson University and the host Wildcats follow with a score of 314 and are tied for fourth. 
Johnson & Wales's Juan Fernandez carded an even-par round of 71 to lead the field, while the Anchormen's Ryan Butler shot a round of 72. 

Freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) carded a round of 82 and senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) was one stroke behind with an 83. Junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) added a score of 86 to round out the Blazers' lineup on day one.

The Blazers return to Wildcat Invitational action on Saturday, April 19 at Cranston Country Club.
