Men’s Golf Tied for 10th Place After Day On at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team is currently in a tie for 10th place with 312 points following day one action at the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.

Central Connecticut State University (288) leads the 38 team field, followed by the University of Rhode Island (URI) with 297 and Bryant University with 298. Western New England University is fourth with 300 and Providence College is fifth with 303 to round out the top five teams.

Central Connecticut State's Monte Mullen is currently leading the field of 189 golfer with a two-under-par 70, while Providence's Jamie Ferullo and URI's Joseph Leavitt are in a tie for second with rounds of 71 each.

Elms' senior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) collected a team-low round of 74 and is tied for 11th overall, while junior Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) and freshman Chris Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) each carded rounds of 78.

Senior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) added a score of 82, while freshman Brian Benson (Agawam, Mass.) was five strokes off that pace with an 87.

The Blazers return to NEIGA action on Monday, October 28 with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Captains Course.
