Alvino, Fall Earn NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore field hockey goalkeeper Samantha Alvino (Holtsville, N.Y.) and senior men’s golfer Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) were each named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Alvino earned her first NECC weekly accolade of the season after making a total of 17 saves during the Blazers’ 0-2 week. Alvino made 14 stops against Western Connecticut State University in a 3-0 loss, and saved three of four shots on goal in a 1-0 setback against Colby-Sawyer College.

Fall notched his first NECC weekly honor of the season after shooting a one-over-par 73 on day one, and a two-over-par 74 on day two of the Trinity College Invitational. Fall’s combined score of 147 placed him in a tie for second place overall just two strokes of the individual medalist. Elms tied for third place overall in the nine team field.
