Men's Basketball Came up Short Against Wildcats on Senior Night

CHICOPEE, MA - The Men battled hard for 40 minutes against the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats coming up short in the final minutes on Wednesday night, 72-65 for the final.

Records: Wildcats (11-11, 8-7) | Blazers (3-20, 2-14)

How it Happened

Grad student Tahquell Cadle (Bridgeport, CT) led Elms with 15 points and 4 rebounds, while sophomore Teron Griffin (Harlem, NY) recorded 10 points and 5 boards from the bench. 

In the first half Josh Zangerle put up 8 points for the Wildcats leading JWU in points for the half. JWU went on to put up fifteen baskets in the first half over the Blazers ten field goals, Elms being able to knock down two 3Pt-Shots. The Blazers would end the half just two possesions behind the Wildcats with the score 32-28.

In the second half the Blazers were out rebounded 18-14, eliminating second point chance opportunities for Elms as well as allowing JWU to capitalize on their defensive end as well. Wildcats gaurd Aireus Raspberry went 6-11 from the field recording 14 points in the second 20 minutes of action. Blazers Cadle almost matched the JWU gaurd as he also put up 13 points in the second, knocking down 3-3 from the foul line. For the final the Blazers fell 72-65 dropping the conference win to the Johnson & Wales Wildcats.
