HARTFORD, CT - The Elms College Men's Basketball team get outlasted on Monday night in the Oosing Gymnasium against the Trinity College Bantams, falling 77-53.

How it Happened

The Elms College men's Basketball team kept the game close for the first half, trailing behind the Trinity College Bantam 30-27 by the end of the first 2 minutes. Leading up to the half the the Blazers never let the Bantam build up a lead of more than a two posession game. Elms controlled the game early in the first with a 5-3 point run, giving the Blazers their only lead of the half at 17-14 with 14 minutes left in the half. 

With the second half underway the Trinity Bantam build up a sizable lead with a 20-4 point run, leading by 20 points (50-33) with eleven minutes left in the game. The Blazers were outrebounded 44-37 and only scored 7 points off of second chace oppertunities whereas the Bantam scored 23. The Blazers scored 14 points from inside the paint following the Bantam who attained 18. Elms was unable to come back from the defiset that Trinity had created and the final ended with the Bantam winning 73-55.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • The Blazers had a 83.3% from the foul line going 5-6.
  • Elms led in both FG and 3 point percentages over Trinity, but attained less attempts overrall
  • Jaijuan Macklin lead with 16 points, going 2-2 from the FT line and 2-3 from the 3 point line
  • Tahquell Cadle finsihed the game with a double double, 13 points and 12 rebounds. Adding 4 assist
