How it Happened

The Blazers shots were not falling in the first half against the USJ Blue Jays on Thursday night. Shooting 17.9% from the field and going 2-10 from the 3Pt-line hurt Elms as the Blue Jays grew their lead throughout the half. Jake Midura (Chicopee, MA) knocked down both three pointers for the Blazers leading the team with six points in the half. The Blazers were able to attain 12 rebounds but were bullied in the paint as USJ reorded 23 boards in the half. The Blue Jays shot 45.5 % from the field and went 3-5 from the foul line, unlike the Blazers the Blue Jays only secured one shot from beyond the arc. The Blue Jays held a generous lead heading into the half, 34-12.

The Blazers were able to double their original score at the end of the first half putting up 30 points in second. Neilon Bridgeman (Harlem, NY) cashed in the only three pointer in the second and led for the Blazers with 7 points and also added 4 rebounds to the stat sheet. Despite the Blazers improvement from the field the Blue Jays were a hardgroup to slow down, including Jaecee Martin who put up a total of 19 points for the Blue Jays. The Blazers continued to battle the rest of the game but were unable to keep up with the USJ Blue Jays, falling 87-42 for the final.
