CHICOPEE, MA - The Men's Basketball team hosted the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) for a conference match up Wednesday night where they fell 86-51.

How it happened
The Blazers knocked down the first basket of the game with a made lay-up by RJ Mayfield (Springfield, MA) just seconds into the game. The Blue Jays answered back by going on a 10-0 point to get a jump on their lead. In the first half the Blue Jays went on to collect 24 rebounds whereas the Blazers only secured 14. Teron Griffin (Harlem, NY) went on a late run cashing in 8 points to help close the lead that USJ had built, ending the first half with the Blue Jays leading 45-26.
USJ was the powerhouse in the second half cashing in three shots from outside the arc and sixteen field goals to put up 41 points in the final 20 minutes of play. The Blazers kept fighting going 66.7% from the foul line granting them four extra points. Both teams attained 21 boards in the second alone. Elms continued to put up shots but were unable to get any of them to fall. After a tough fought battle the Blazers fell to the University of Saint Joseph 89-51 for the final.
