Men's Basketball Conquer Raiders on the Road

NASHUA, NH - The Men conquered the Raiders in Muldoon Gymnasium on Saturday, 76-58 for the final.

How it Happened

In the first the Lightning dominated the boards on both ends, recording twelve defensive and offensive racking up twenty four team rebounds. The Raiders came up short with the boards only securing sixteen with thirteen of them being defensive rebounds. Juan Macklin (Sayerville, NJ) lead with eight boards, seven of them being offensive boards in the half and went 3-4 from the foul line. Tahquell Cadle (Bridgeport, CT) put up ten points for the Blazers and recorded four boards, one assist and one steal in the first twenty. Elms held the lead 31-29 over the Raiders heading into the half. 

The Blazers entered the second half and continued to control the boards adding twenty nine more total rebounds, twenty three of them on the defensive end. For the Lightning Cadle recorded twelve more boards to his first half collection and added eleven points, with five of his points from the free throw line. First year Jake Midura (Chicopee, MA) was fired up this half cashing in fourteen points for the Blazers with two three pointers and went 4-4 from the foul line. Midura also added one steal and one assist to the book. The Raiders were able to knock down five shots from beyond the arc helping them build on their score but were unable to keep up with the Blazers offensive success. Elms would win 76-58 for the final against Rivier.

• Jake Midura cashed in a season high of 22 points, he also added 5 boards, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
• Cadle knocked down 21 points, 16 rebounds, 1 asisst and 2 steals.
• The Team put up 17-23 from the free throw line and recorded 56 boards
