WESTON, MA - The Elms College Men's Basketball team came up short Saturday afternoon to the Regis College Pride, final score 72-70.

How it Happened
Regis College controlled the first half putting up 38 points in the first half, cashing in 2 three pointers and grabbing 8 free points from the line. The Blazers came up short in rebounds recording only 14 while the Pride secured 25, 13 of them defensively. Elms went 2-2 from the foul line, knocked down by Dominique Threatt (Mobil, Alabama). The Blazers trailed the Pride 38-20 heading into the half.
The Blazers opened the flood gates to start the second half putting up twenty two points over the Prides eleven jumping the score to a five point difference, 49-44. For the rest of the game Elms kept the score close, keeping the Pride to a two possesion lead for the final five minutes. With the Pride up 72-68, Klaytin Silva (Worcester, MA) was able to secure a defensive board with ten seconds remaining on the clock to provide a transitionjump shot by Tahquell Cadle (Bridgeport, CT) to make it a two point game. The Blazers were quick to get a timeout with three seconds remaining on the clock. The Blazers were able to get the Prides' Justin Evelyn to the line where he missed both foul shots. Cadle grabbed the rebound to try and hit a long three to win the game but was unable to hit the net. The Blazers fell 72-70 to the Regis College Pride Saturday afternoon.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Blazers had five players hit double digits in the contest
- Tahquell Cadle cashed in 18 points followed by RJ Mayfield (Springfield, MA) who also put up 16 points
- Silva, Cadle and Macklin (Sayerville, NJ) all recorded 6 rebounds
- Elms record a total of 30 rebounds, 21 defensively
