Martin Named NECC Men’s Volleyball Rookie Of The Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College sophomore setter Mike Martin (Enfield, Conn.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for men’s volleyball for the week of Feb. 8-14 as announced by the league office on Monday.

This is Martin’s third weekly honor in as many weeks as the setter totaled 82 assists in a 1-1 week for the Blazers. Elms, which played Lesley University twice in five days, lost the first match 3-0, but won the second 3-1 on the strength of Martin’s 50 assists. Martin added four digs in each contest against the Lynx, and amassed six total blocks during the stretch, one solo and five assisted.
