Men’s Volleyball Selected Second In NECC Preseason Poll
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Elms College
men’s volleyball team was selected second in the 2010 New
England Collegiate Conference (NECC) preseason poll as announced by
the league office on Monday.
Elms received 38 total votes. Newbury College received all five
first place votes and 50 total votes and was tabbed as the
preseason favorite.
Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the NECC's head
men’s volleyball coaches.
The Blazers will open the 2010 season on Saturday, Jan. 16. Elms
will host Wentworth Institute of Technology and Southern Vermont in
a tri-match starting at 12:00 p.m. at Picknelly Arena.
Last season, the Blazers had a record-setting year, as the team
won a school-record 20 matches; won the inaugural NECC
championship; captured the school's first-ever Eastern College
Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship in any sport, and earned,
for the second consecutive year, a berth in the North East
Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Tournament.
