BEVERLY, Mass. – Elms College freshman outside hitter Stephen Cameron (Newington, Conn.) hit at a phenomenal .500 clip and smashed eight kills, but Endicott College received 10 kills from James Sliva (Monroe, Conn.) to help lift the Gulls to a 3-0 (14-30, 12-30, 16-30) sweep of the Blazers in Thursday afternoon’s North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) New England Division men’s volleyball match.

With the loss, Elms slides to 5-24 overall, 5-11 in NECVA action, while Endicott improves to 26-7 overall, 15-1 in league action.

Junior setter Mike Ryan (Ludlow, Mass.) dished out 19 assists, while sophomore outside hitters Mike Martin (Enfield, Conn.), and Yonalvy Acosta (Holyoke, Mass.) and freshman middle hitter Wilfrido Fermin (Bronx, N.Y.) downed three kills each.

Cameron added 10 digs and a solo block, while Fermin contributed a solo stuff and assisted on two others in the losing effort.

A.J. Witkofsky (Scotia, N.Y.) had six kills in his only set of the day for Endicott, while Ben Foster (Penfield, N.Y.) dished out 26 assists in the win. David Olson (Chelmsford, Mass.) added nine helpers, Zeke Kubisch (Bethlehem, N.Y.) had a match-high four aces, and B.J. Worth (Londonderry, N.H.) had three aces and held serve for 19 straight points in the third set.

David Lowe (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) put forth an eight dig effort while Worth tallied seven in the win. Sophomore Joshua Bruno (Andover, Mass.) and senior John Emery (Westford, Mass.) each had two blocks for the Gulls.

Elms returns to action on Tuesday, April 6 when it hosts Rivier College in its final regular season contest of the season. The non-conference match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start at Picknelly Arena.
