Field Hockey Participates in Rays of Hope Walk

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Elms College field hockey team participated in the 19th annual Rays of Hope Walk to help the organization raise money for breast cancer research on Sunday, Oct. 28.

The Blazers' field hockey team was part of a group of more than 21,000 participants during the 2012 8-kilometer run/walk that helped raise awareness, support and hope for breast cancer research and care. Since the program's inception in 1994, Rays of Hope has raised $10.25 million.

Rays of Hope offers community education and outreach about breast cancer; provides coordinated, accessible, and medically advanced breast cancer care at the initial stage of diagnosis and continuing on through treatment and recovery; supports patients through the continuum of care that acknowledges the needs of the whole person; and funds local breast cancer research.
