Fall Earns Individual Medalist Honors, Men’s Golf Wins Blazer Invitational

GRANBY, Mass. – Elms College junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) shot a one-over-par 73 to earn individual medalist honors and help the Blazers to a team score of 308 and win the Blazer Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass.

Elms led the five team field with a combined score of 308, followed by Rhode Island College with a score of 327, Westfield State University with a score of 338, the Sage Colleges with a mark of 371 and Mitchell College with a total of 398.

Elms' senior Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) shot even par on the front nine and tied with Rhode Island's Tim Leigh for second place (77). Junior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) and sophomore Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) each carded rounds of 79 along with MCLA's Sean Cota and Taylor Dunn who participated as individuals on Wednesday.

Blazers' senior Dan Costello (Brookfield, Conn.) shot a round of 85 while freshman Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) was five strokes behind with a round of 90.

Rurak led the field of 28 golfers with five birdies, while Fall followed with four and Cudnik three. Cota and Leigh each birdied twice for their respective teams.

Tyler Beadry led Westfield State with a round of 81 and finished in a tie for eighth place overall, while Jeff Stupera led Sage with an 82. Mike Pinkerton carded a team-best score of 86 to lead Mitchell.

Wednesday's invitational concluded 2012-13 season action for the Blazers.
