Men’s Golf Places Third at Western New England University Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Elms College sophomore Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) carded a round of 73 and finished second overall to lead the Blazers who shot a combined score of 314 at the Western New England University Invitational on Thursday afternoon in Springfield, Mass.

Endicott College (309) won the event followed by the host Golden Bears (310) and Elms at 314 to highlight the top three in the field of 11 teams. The Gulls' Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) earned individual medalist honors with a round of 70.

Junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) followed with a round of 78, senior Dan Costello (Brookfield, Conn.) notched an 80 and junior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) rounded out Elms' scoring golfers with a round of 83. Freshman Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) added a score of 89.

Elms returns to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21 at the Johnson & Wales Invitational in Providence, R.I.
