Fall Earns Individual Medalist Honors as Men’s Golf Places Fifth in Day Two of the Wildcats Spring Invitational

CRANSTON, R.I. – Elms College junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) shot a round of 73 and won the playoff to earn individual medalist honors on day two of the Wildcats Spring Invitational hosted by Johnson & Wales University and helped the Blazers to an overall round of 319 and a two-day score of 647 and a fifth place finish in the tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Rhode Island College won the event with a round of 299 on Sunday and a 619 overall team score, while Salem State University placed second with a 631. Husson University placed third with a score 634 and Western New England University was one stroke behind that at 635. Elms rounded out the top five with its score of 647.

Fall and the University of Southern Maine's Aiden Boyce each finished with a two-day score of 150 and Fall won the playoff between the two to garner individual medalist honors for the invitational. Rhode Island's Pat Ford shot the low round of the day (70) and was tied with Nichols College's Kevin Wheeler for third place as the two shot two-day scores of 151.

Junior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) shot a round of 79, sophomore Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) carded a round of 82 and senior Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) shot a round of 85 to highlight Elms' four scoring golfers behind Fall's 73. Freshman Dan Olive (Jefferson Township, N.J.) shot 90 on day two.

Fall shot 150 over the two days, Cudnik finished the event with a combined score of 164, Smith totaled 165 and Rurak collected a two-day total of 168.

Elms concludes its 2012-13 season with its spring Blazer Invitational at Westover Golf Course on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m.
