Men's Golf Finishes Finishes in 12th Place at Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Elms College men's golf team shot a combined score of 325 on Sunday and finished Duke Nelson Invitational action with an overall score of 640 to place 12th overall in the two-day event hosted by Middlebury College.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) earned top team honors shooting an impressive 294 on day two and finishing with an overall score of 607, followed by Skidmore College (613) and host Middlebury (618) rounding out the top three in the field of 25 teams.

Hamilton College's Greg Scott carded a one-over par 72 to earn individual medalist honors on Sunday and was the top individual scorer for the tournament (145).

Elms' senior Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) carded a team-low round of 78, while junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) and sophomore Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) each registered scores of 79 on Sunday afternoon.

Junior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) and sophomore Alison Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) added rounds of 89 and 90 respectively for the Blazers.

Elms returns to action at the Williams College Invitational on Sept. 22-23 with Saturday's action beginning at 11:30 a.m.
