Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Williams College Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Elms College sophomore Nick Smith (Enfield, Conn.) finished with a team-low score of 78 and the Blazers totaled a 322 for the day and 637 for the tournament to place 14th overall at the Williams College Invitational at Taconic Golf Club. 

Williams (584) exactly matched its solid 292 from Saturday to win by 15 strokes over runner-up Middlebury College (599). Babson College (602) dropped one spot in the standings after the first round and finished in third place. Trinity College (603) came in fourth place, while Williams' 'B' team and Salem State University finished in a tie for fifth place with scores of 612 during the two-day event.

Ephs' teammates Matt McCarron and Dylan Dethier earned co-medalist honors both shooting 149 for the weekend. 

Elms' junior Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) carded a Sunday score of 79 and finished with a 158 to lead the Blazers, while Smith and senior Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) turned in solid rounds of 162 during the two-day event. 

Junior Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) and sophomore Alison Cowles (East Longmeadow, Mass.) registered total scores of 167 and 183 respectively.

Elms returns to action on Wednesday, September 26 when it hosts the Blazers Invitational at 10:00 a.m. at Westover Golf Course.
