Men's Golf Places Seventh at Western New England Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Elms College sophomore Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) finished third overall with a score of 74 and the Blazers finished seventh in the field of 11 teams on Thursday afternoon at Veteran's Golf Course in Springfield, Mass.

Endicott College won the team event with a score of 314, while Salem State University placed second and finished just two strokes behind the Gulls at 316. Nichols College came in third with a combined mark of 319 to round out the top three teams.

Salem State's Steve Zolotas and Endicott's Brett Malboeuf each carded low rounds of 73 on the day, while Zolotas earned individual medalist honors following a playoff victory on the first hole.

Elms finished in seventh with an overall score of 329 led by Fall's round of 74 which was just one shot off the leaders. Sophomore Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) registered a round 78 and tied for 10th place overall while freshman Nicholas Smith (Enfield, Conn.) notched a round of 84 and junior Philip Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) turned in a 93 to round out the scoring team for the Blazers.

Elms is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22 at the Johnson & Wales University Invitational.
