Men’s Golf Finishes Tied For 10th at Williams College Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Elms College sophomores Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) and Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) scored respective rounds of 77 and 79 to help pace the Blazers to a day-two team score of 319 and a share of 10^th place overall, Sunday afternoon at the Williams College men's golf invitational at Taconic Golf Course.

Salem State University won the tournament with a two-day score of 592 led by overall individual leader Nick Zolotas (143) and teammate Chris Berry (144). Manhattanville College and host Williams finished second and third with scores of 600 and 605, while Middlebury College (616) and Trinity College (620) rounded out the top five.

Babson College finished a stroke behind Trinity with a 621, while Hamilton College (632), Bowdoin College (635), Western New England University (WNEU) (638), Elms and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) (639), Amherst College (647), Tufts University (651), New York University (653), Springfield College (653), Castleton State College (667), Wesleyan University (687), and Worcester State University (696) rounded out the 18-team field.

After shooting an even-par 71 on Saturday, Zolotas finished one over on Sunday to secure a two-day total of 143 and place first overall. Berry matched Zolotas in round one with a 71, and was one stroke behind on day two to finish with a 144 for the event.

Fall registered a pair of 77 during the invitational to finish tied for 19^th overall in the field of 97 golfers, while junior Philip Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) placed six strokes behind Fall with an overall score of 160 (77 and 83).

Freshman Nicholas Smith (Enfield, Conn.) and Cudnik added combined scores of 162 and 163, while junior David Pianki (West Suffield, Mass.) registered a pair of 91s to finish with a 182 for the event.

Elms returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when it hosts the Blazers Invitational at Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass. with tee-off set for 10:00 a.m.
