Men’s Golf in 11th Place After Day One At Hampton Inn Spring Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Elms College men's golf team is in 11th place out of 18 teams after day one action at the Hampton Inn Spring Invitational hosted by the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth at Allendale Country Club.

Babson College and Salem State University are tied for the team lead after first round action with scores of 316. Husson University and host UMass Dartmouth are in a tie for third place with 323, while Rhode Island College is sitting in fifth place with a mark of 328. Western New England College (WNEC) (333), Amherst College (335), Johnson & Wales University (345), Castleton State College (347), Tufts University (348), Elms (351), UMass Dartmouth (Gold) (352), Springfield College (356), Endicott College (357), Wentworth Institute of Technology (359), Nichols College (360), Worcester State University (362) and Suffolk University (363) round out the remaining 13 teams in the field of 18.

Elms' senior Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) led all Blazers with a first round score of 83 and finished tied for 22nd in the field of 88 golfers. Freshman Kyle Simard (Thorndike, Mass.) was four strokes behind Sullivan (87), while classmates Eddie Innarelli (Ludlow, Mass.) and Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) carded rounds of 88 and 93 respectively.

Second round action is set for 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
