Men’s Golf Places Ninth At Rhode Island College Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Elms College men's golf team earned a combined score of 358 to place ninth at the Rhode Island College Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Triggs Memorial Golf Course.
Husson University captured first place with a score of 324 led by Michael Hersey (Presque Isle, Maine) who shot a 75 to capture individual medalist honors. The University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth placed two strokes behind the Eagles with a team score of 326, while host Rhode Island College shot a 333.
Johnson & Wales University (339), Endicott College (340), Worcester State University (342), Babson College (343), Nichols College (344), Elms (358), Suffolk University (367), Anna Maria College (369) and Wentworth Institute of Technology (372) rounded out the field of 12.
Elms' freshman Kyle Simard (Thorndike, Mass.) carded a team-low round of 79 to finish in a tie for sixth place overall. Freshmen Edward Innarelli (Ludlow, Mass.), Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.), and senior Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) carded rounds of 92, 93 and 94 respectively to round out the Blazers' scoring golfers.
Elms returns to the links on Saturday, April 9-10 at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
