Men's Golf In Fourth Place After Day One Of ECAC Championships

STOW, Mass. - Elms College freshman Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) carded a round of 77 and finished in a tie for fifth place to help the Blazers to a team score of 314 and a fourth place finish in opening round action at the two-day Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships at Stow Acres Country Club in Stow, Mass.

Nichols College leads play after day one with a team score of 309, followed by Endicott College (312) and Husson University (313) in third. The Blazers finished just one stroke behind the Eagles with a 314.

All four of Elms' scoring golfers finished round one within one stroke of each other as sophomore Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished with a 78, sophomore Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) carded a 79 and senior Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) finished the first 18 holes with an 80. Freshman Kyle Simard (Thorndike, Mass.) rounded out the squad with a score of 82.

The Blazers will tee off at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday for the final round of play at the 2010 ECAC Championship.
