Men’s Golf Places 13th at Worcester State University Spring Invitational

SUTTON, Mass. – Elms College freshman golfer Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) shot a team-best round of 76 and the Blazers carded a team score of 341 to finish 13th overall in Tuesday afternoon's Worcester State University Spring Invitational at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Mass.

Salem State University won the invitational with a score of 313, while Western New England College (WNEC) and Endicott College finished second and third with respective scores of 318 and 326. University of Masschusetts at Dartmouth and Trinity College (Conn.) tied for fourth place (328) to round out the top five. Rhode Island College (330), Tufts University (331), Westfield State University (332), Nichols College (334), Anna Maria College (337), Springfield College (338), Worcester State (339), Elms (341), Amherst College (343), Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (344), Johnson & Wales University (344), Wesleyan University (Conn.) and Franklin Pierce University (361) completed the 18 team field.

Salem State's Nick Zolotas captured individual medalist honors with a sensational round of three-under-par 69 highlighted by a score of 33 on the front nine. UMass-Dartmouth's Nick Jagoe carded a 74 to finish second overall, while Endicott's Jackson Wyman was a stroke behind Jagoe with a score of 75 to secure third place honors.

Fall finished tied for fourth overall in the field of 86 golfers while sophomore Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) registered a round of 82 to place second for Elms. Freshman Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) was four strokes behind Rurak (86) while sophomore Tavish Leland (Bridgton, Maine) contributed a round of 97 to give the Blazers a combined score of 341.  Freshman Kyle Panek (Belchertown, Mass.) rounded out Elms' squad of five with a round of 102.

Elms will host its spring invitational on Thursday, April 21 at Westover Golf Course in nearby Granby, Mass. Tee-time is set for 10:00 a.m.
