Men’s Golf Wins NYU/Manhattanville Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. – Elms College freshman Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) carded a second round score of two-over-par 74 to help pace the Blazers to a 307 team score and a two-day total of 615 to secure its victory at the 2010 New York University (NYU)/Manhattanville College Invitational men's golf tournament at Spook Rock Golf Course.

SUNY Delhi earned second place honors with a two-day score of 619 just four strokes behind Elms. Manhattanville carded a total score of 624 with NYU two strokes behind at 626. Two strokes behind NYU was Adelphi University (628) with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) finishing in sixth place with a score of 632. Stevens Institute of Technology rounded out the seven team field with a combined tally of 676.

Fall finished second overall with an impressive two-day score of 146, while sophomore Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) registered a pair of 77s to finished with a 154. Sophomore Phil Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) followed yesterday's round of 78 with a 77 on Sunday to finish one stroke behind Roberts (155), while freshman Kyle Simard (Thorndike, Mass.) lowered his day one score of 81 to a 79 on Sunday to secure a two-round total of 160. Freshman Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) shot an 86 on Sunday to round out the squad with a combined score of 169 for the tournament.

Columbia University's Brendan Doyle earned individual medalist honors playing as an individual with a one-under-par 71 on day one and a 74 on day two to finish with an overall score of 145.

Elms concludes the fall portion of its schedule with six wins in 10 invitationals, including both Blazer Invitationals, the two-day Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championships, the Emmanuel College Tri-Match and the NYU/Manhattanville Invitational.
