Mens Golf Wins Blazer Invitational

GRANBY, Mass. – Elms College sophomore Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) and freshman Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) each carded a low round of 77 and Roberts won the playoff to help lift the Blazers to a 313 overall score and a victory in the seven-team Blazer Invitational on Tuesday at Westover Golf Course.
Westfield State University finished in second place with a combined score of 326, Anna Maria College finished third (340), Daniel Webster College totaled a 354 to place fourth, Emmanuel College came in fifth with a 372 and Newbury College came in sixth with a score of 397. Elms' B-team totaled a score of 355.
Anna Maria's Christopher Kusz (Paxton, Mass.), Westfield State's Ryan Donovan (Franklin, Mass.), and Elms' freshmen Kyle Simard (Thorndike, Mass.) and Tyler Cudnik (Hampden, Mass.) each shot a 79 to finish in a four-way tie for third place. Senior Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) finished just one stroke behind that group with an 80, while freshman Edward Innarelli (Ludlow, Mass.) registered an 81.
Elms placed eight of their nine golfers in the top 20 in Tuesday's event.
