NORWOOD, N.C. – Elms College junior golfer Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) shot a 77 in day two action on Sunday at the Piney Point Preamble hosted by Pfeiffer University. The Blazers finished fourth out of four teams for the tournament, registering a combined score of 668 for the two-day event.

Wingate University claimed top team honors with 597 total points. Pfeiffer, which entered two squads into the tournament, saw its black team finish in second with 603 points, and its white team notch 624 points. Elms rounded out the four-team field with 668 points.

Elms freshman Philip Rurak (Wilbraham, Mass.) added a 79 on Sunday to his 83 during day one to card an overall score of 162 to lead the Blazers. Sullivan followed with a two-round score of 166 (89-77), while freshman Anthony Roberts (Ludlow, Mass.) came in third with a combined score of 169. Freshman Dave Pianki (West Suffield, Conn.) notched fourth place honors for Elms with a 171.

Freshman Dan Costello (Brookfield, Conn.) shot a pair of 90’s for an overall score of 180, while classmate Kyle Panek (Belchertown, Mass.) scored a combined 214 for the two-day event. Freshman Shane Murphy (Bridgewater, Mass.) rounded out the Blazers’ non-scorers with a 234.

Elms will travel to UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday, April 10-11. Day one action is set for 1:00 p.m., with play slated to begin on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
