Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth In Opening Round Of NECC Championships

GROTON, CT – Elms College junior golfer
Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, MA) finished
with a 76 to lead the Blazers to a fourth place overall finish in
the opening round of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC)
men’s golf championships on Saturday, hosted by Mitchell
College.
Babson leads the field of seven schools with a combined score of
294 in the opening round, led by day one top-performer,
Bryan Eger (Marion, MA), who shot an impressive
round of 70 (37 and 33).
Sullivan shot a 36 on the front nine and 40 on the back nine en
route to a fifth place overall finish in Saturday's opening
round.
Freshman Dave Pianki (West Suffield, CT) carded
an opening round score of 79 and is tied for seventh place, while
classmate Dan Costello (Brookfield, CT) shot an 86
on Saturday to highlight the Blazers team score of 341.
The Blazers return to the course for Sunday’s second round
beginning at 12:00 p.m.
