Sullivan, Pianki Named All-NECC

CHICOPEE, MA – Elms college junior golfer Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, MA) and freshman Dave Pianki (West Suffield, CT) were both named Second Team All-New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) members for the 2009 men’s golf fall season.

Sullivan finished the fall season with a low round of 76 which he achieved on three different occasions (Sept. 15, Sept. 18, Oct. 10). Sullivan finished in a tie for second overall at the Mitchell tri-match on Oct. Oct. 7 and placed third at the season-opening Blazers Invitational (Sept. 15) and at the MCLA Invitational on Sept. 24. Sullivan carded rounds of 76 and 86 in the two-day 2009 NECC Championships hosted by Mitchell to earn an eighth place overall finish. This is Sullivan's second all-conference selection.

Pianki earned individual medalist honors with a low round of 82 at the Mitchell tri-match before closing out the fall season with rounds of 79 and 84 at the two-day NECC Championships respectively. His score of 163 earned him a share of ninth place overall for the event. The first-year golfer carded his best score (77) during the first day of play at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships placing eighth on the day. He shot an 81 the next day and finished tied for 18th overall.
