Simard Wins Day One Of Elms College Junior Golf Classics
LUDLOW, Mass., July 21, 2010 – Kyle Simard shot a four-over par 76 to claim top honors for the 15-18 year old age division at the first of two Elms College Junior Golf Classics on Wednesday morning at Westover Golf Course.
The 13 and 14 year olds and the 15 and 18 year olds played all 18 holes, while the 12 and under participants played the front nine.
After a four-way tie for second place with rounds of 79, Zach Kennedy birdied the playoff hole to garner second place. Tyler Cudnik, Eddie Innarelli and Shawn Lebeau each carded rounds of 79 to join Kennedy and force the extra hole.
In the 13 and 14 year old age group, John Beadle shot a two-under par 70 to collect first place. Ryan Zetterholm finished with a score of 79 and was the runner up.
In the 12 and under age bracket, Jon Farrell shot a low round of 44, while Jake Ryczek finished five strokes behind Farrell to notch a score of 49 to place second.
The second of the Elms College Junior Golf Classics will take place on Wednesday, July 28 at Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass. First-tee is set for 9:00 a.m.
