Women’s Volleyball Falls to MCLA, 3-0

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Elms College senior outside hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, Mass.) floored a team-best nine kills and served up five aces, but Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) earned a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20) victory over the Blazers in Thursday evening's non-conference women's volleyball match.

With the loss, Elms slides to 8-14 on the season, while MCLA improves to 9-15 overall.

Croteau paced Elms with nine kills and 11 digs in addition to her five aces, while junior outside hitter Christina Martin (Chicopee, Mass.) added eight kills.

Senior setter Jennifer Rego (Fall River, Mass.) dished out 14 assists and collected three digs, freshman libero Caitlyn Larvey (Greenfield, Mass.) added seven digs, and senior defensive specialist Anne Blanchette (Byfield, Mass.) chipped in six digs in the losing effort.

Elms returns to conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 19 when it hosts Mitchell College at 7:00 p.m. at Picknelly Arena.
