Men’s and Women’s Swimming Complete Day Two at ECAC Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) and sophomoreEthan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.) each set new school records during day two action of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet on Saturday morning held at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis Md.

In the preliminaries, DeGrazia clocked a new school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.51 and placed 27th overall, while Etheridge powered to a new school mark in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.69 and finished 17th overall.

The men's 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore James Grippo (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Etheridge, seniors Keegan Goan (Westbrook, Maine) and Aaron Starke (Chicopee, Mass.) dashed to a time of 1:40.51 and earned 12th place honors and will return for the finals later on Saturday.

In the finals, the same tandem swam to a time of 1:39.47 to place 12th.

Goan also swam the 200-yard butterfly and clocked a time of 53.49 to finish 33rd overall.

Following the men's 200-yard medley relay finals on Saturday evening, Etheridge and DeGrazia will each compete in the 100-yard freestyle on Sunday.
