Swimmers Complete Day One of ECAC Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) placed 26th overall in the 500-yard freestyle and sophomore Ethan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished 28th overall in the 50-yard freestyle during day one action of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet held at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

DeGrazia clocked a time of 5:15.94 in the 500-yard freestyle, while Etheridge notched a time of 22.22 in the 50-yard freestyle. Both swimmers competed in the preliminaries but did not advance to the finals.

ECAC Championship meet action will continue for the Blazers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1.

Etheridge will join seniors Aaron Starke (Chicopee, Mass.) and Keegan Goan (Westbrook, Maine) and sophomore James Grippo (Longmeadow, Mass.) in the 200-yard medley relay on Saturday. He will also swim in the 100-yard breaststroke, Goan will swim the 100-yard butterfly and DeGrazia will swim in the 200-yard freestyle.

Etheridge and DeGrazia will each compete in the 100-yard freestyle on Sunday.
