Men’s Swimming Tops Gordon College, 133-114

WENHAM, Mass. – Elms College senior Keegan Goan (Westbrook, Maine) and sophomore Stephen Lynch (Madison, Conn.) each won a pair of events as the Blazers' men's swim team captured a 133-114 victory over Gordon College in Saturday's swim meet at Bennett Arena in Wenham, Mass.

With the win, Elms moves to 1-0 on the season, while Gordon College sits at 0-1 overall.

Elms' 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore James Grippo (Longmeadow, Mass.), sophomore Ethan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.), Goan and senior Aaron Starke (Chicopee, Mass.) notched a winning time of 1:45.21, while the tandem of Nicklaus Cirillo (Gloversville, N.Y.), Lynch, sophomore Kyle Murphy (Holyoke, Mass.) and Etheridge won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:42.70.

Lynch won the 100-yard backstroke (58.88) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:22.91), while Goan took first place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.00) and the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 24.82.

Etheridge tabbed first place honors in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.68) and Starke won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.82.

The Blazers entertain St. Joseph's College (Maine) at Partyka Natatorium on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m. in their next contest.
