DeGrazia, Etheridge Named GNAC Swimmers of the Week

BOSTON, Mass. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) and sophomore swimmer Ethan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.) were named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Swimmers of the Week as announced by the organization.

DeGrazia set new school and pool records in the 100-meter freestyle (1:01.86) and the 800-meter freestyle (9:48.06) and clocked a new school mark in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 31.38. DeGrazia lowered all three of her school records but her pool mark in the 100-meter freestyle was previously set in 2000 by Keene State College, while her time in the 800-meter freestyle was last set in 2007 by Eastern Connecticut State University. This is DeGrazia’s third weekly accolade of the season.

Etheridge powered to a school record time of 2:41.95 in the 200-meter breaststroke and broke the 100-meter freestyle pool and school record during the first leg of the 400-meter freestyle relay notching a time of 55.43. Etheridge broke Zack LeBarron's record of 56.72 which was set in 2009 and Regis’s pool record mark of 56.62 which was set in 2012. This is Etheridge’s second weekly award of the season.
