Five Swimmers Heading to ECAC Championship Meet

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - After outstanding performances at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Asscociation (NEISDA) Championship, five Elms College swimmers are heading to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. beginning on Friday, February 28-March 2. 

The ECAC Open Championship meet includes NCAA division I, II and III schools.  Qualifying for the meet is difficult with the time standards based on the best times from all three divisions.

Swimming for Elms will be NEISDA Swimmer of the Meet, senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) who will be competing in the 100-yard, 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events. 

Sophomore Ethan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.) will be swimming the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Senior Keegan Goan (Westbrook, Maine) will race in the 100-yard butterfly. Etheridge and Goan will be joined by senior Aaron Starke (Chicopee, Mass.) and sophomore James Grippo (Longmeadow, Mass.) as they take the school record setting 200-yard medley relay team to compete.

All five swimmers, along with freshman Nicklaus Cirillo (Gloversville, N.Y.) and sophomore Mikhail Kuyuzov (Swampscott, Mass.) were named All-New England by NEISDA.
