Men’s and Women’s Swimming Garner GNAC Weekly Accolades

BOSTON, Mass. – Elms College senior Devon DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week and sophomore Ethan Etheridge (Pawtucket, R.I.) was named the GNAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

DeGrazia powered to winning times in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.37), the 100-yard freestyle (56.06) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:39.68) despite a second place finish against UMass-Dartmouth on November 23. This is DeGrazia’s second weekly accolade of the season.

Freshman Abigail Will (Hopkinton, Mass.) was named to the weekly honor roll after winning the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 29.82, finishing second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.64) and third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.22.

Etheridge picked up his first weekly honor of the season after clocking first place times in the 50-yard breaststroke (28.70) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.57) helping the Blazers to a victory over UMass-Dartmouth.

Freshman Nicklaus Cirillo (Gloversville, N.Y.) earned weekly honor roll as he clocked a time of 1:54.73 to win the 200-yard freestyle and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with respective times of 54.34 and 5:20.93.
