Elm's Strike Down Hornets in 3

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College women's volleyball team surged to a 3-0 victory over the NVU-Lyndon Hornets.

How it Happened

Elms came ready to play on Wednesday night against the visiting Northern Vermont University- Lyndon Hornets, the Blazers had nine kills with a hitting percentage of .389 in the first set. Elms College went on a 5 point run boosting their lead over the Hornets, the Blazers took that 5 point run and ran with it securing the first set victory putting them up 1-0 in the match by a score of 25-9.

At the beginning of the second set the Blazers jumped to an immediate lead after a kill by Laura Jensen and an ace from Jaylen Holman . After some back and forth points between the two teams, the Blazers went on a 10 point run to take a commanding 21-5 lead in set 2. Despite the fight that the Hornet's put up, they were unable to top the Blazers. The Hornets would fall in the second set 25-7, Blazers leading 2-0 in the match.

With the final set underway the Hornets came out with an early 3-0 led by Calysta Lohman with a kill and an ace. The Blazers regained the lead by going on a 16-1 run to take a 16-4 lead. The Blazers 16 point run boosted them in the final set to take a final set victory by a score of 25-9, Blazers won the match by a score of 3-0.
