Blazers go 1-1 at Tri Match, Falling to the Cougars in Second Match

CHICOPEE, MA – Tough battle for the Women's Volleyball team as they faced the Clark University Cougars in the second match on Saturday. The Blazers fought hard for 3 sets, almost getting the victory in the third set but falling short. Blazers lose 0-3 to the Cougars, going 1-1 on the day at the tri match in Worcester, MA.

How It Happened

The Blazers started off the first set strong with a 2 point lead and a kill by setter Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, NM). As hard as the Blazers battled the Clark University Cougars were on point with their attacks. The Blazers couldn't close the gap and lost the first set 11-25, the Cougars took the first match point.

The second set was another hard fight for the Blazers. Mid set the Blazers had the Cougars stuck at 10 points as they started making their comeback. For 4 straight points the Blazers climbed their way back with a Kill by Holman and two Ace's by senior outside hitter Jaylianne Ramos Figueroa (Boca Raton, FL). Unfortunately the pace switched up for the Blazers and they fell short to the Cougars 11-25. Cougars take second match point, 0-2.

Right off the hop the Blazers and Cougars are fighting neck and neck in the third set. Blazers take the lead after an Ace by Holman making the score 12-11. The Blazers go on a 4 point lead, but the Cougars lessen the game and make it a one point difference. Tied 19-19, the Blazers put up a good fight but fell to the cougars 20-25 in the final set.
