WENHAM, MA– Women's Volleyball headed to Gordon College Tuesday night to face the Fighting Scots, the Blazers fell short 0-3 for the final. The Blazers lost on set scores of (17-25, 20-25, 18-25). The loss drops Elms to 1-6 overall and 0-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

How It Happened
The Blazers and the Fighting Scots traded points early in the first set. With the score tied 7-7 the match was looking like it was going to be an even fight. Gordon changed the pace of the match and went on a 3-9 run, bumping them in the lead 10-16. With a couple kills here and there by senior Jaylianne Ramos Figueroa (Boca Raton, FL) and senior Laura Jensen (Terrance, CA) the Blazers were unable to take the lead. Gordon takes the first set 17-25.
The Blazers started the second set with a five point run with a kill from Jensen and an ace by first year Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, NM ), taking the lead 5-2. Gordon fights back and closes the gap tying up the score at 8-8. The set becomes a point by point fight, until the Fighting Scots pull away with the lead 16-21. The Blazers go on a 4 point run trying to take the lead back, but Gordon seals the win off of a kill by Annie Murphy and an unlucky error by the Blazers. Final set score of 20-25 Gordon.
The final set is an even score up to a draw at 8-8. The Fighting Scots went for a 1-4 run creating a 2 point lead on the Blazers. For the rest of the set Elms was unable to narrow the two point lead that Gordon obtained. The Blazers fell in the 3rd and final set 18-25.
Inside the Numbers
Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, NM) had a .400 kill percentage, as well as led the team in assists with 22 for the match
Alyssa Moore (Ludlow, MA) led the Blazers in Digs, ending the match with a total of 18.
Jaylianne Ramos Figueroa (Boca Raton, FL) led the Blazers in Kills with a total of 13.
