Killion's Three Goals Kicks Women’s Soccer Past Daniel Webster, 4-2

NASHUA, N.H. – Elms College junior forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) registered three goals and now has 16 goals for the season as the Blazers overcame a 2-0 deficit to post a 4-2 victory over Daniel Webster College in Saturday afternoon's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer game in Nashau, N.H.

With the win, Elms improves to 8-9 overall, 6-2 in conference action and has now won six straight games, while Daniel Webster slides to 5-8-3 overall, 4-3-1 in league play.

Daniel Webster drew first blood late in the first half when Nikki Gassert (Woodbridge, Conn.) scored on a pass from Alexa Quintiliani (Manchester, Conn.) at the 36:55 mark.

The Eagles added to its lead in the 64th minute when Quintiliani netted a goal on a pass from Amanda Varricchio (Middletown, Conn.) to set the score at 2-0.

Elms answered five minutes later when Killion fired a strike following a feed from junior forward Erica Griffo (Syracuse, N.Y.) to cut the Blazers' deficit in half.

At the 81:08 mark, Killion evened the contest at 2-2 when she scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Gianna Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.).

Freshman midfielder Chelsea Carroll (Meriden, Conn.) then scored what stood as the game-winner when she scored on a corner kick from freshman defender Allyson Witaszek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) in the 87th minute of play.

Killion sealed the victory with an insurance goal with two minutes remaining in the contest with her third score of the contest.

Killion has now struck for 12 goals in the last five games helping the Blazers extend their winning streak to six games.

Elms returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 2 in the quarterfinal round of the NECC Championship tournament. The Blazers await the pairings which will be released on Sunday, Oct. 31.
